Progress Update 12.07.2016

by

Hi guys.

Yes, we are still alive :D I  hope you guys out there are fine as well.
Real life commitments, a lack of motivation and a general feeling of being overworked, stalled the progress lately.
But we’re still around and kicking. Currently we focus our efforts on Decode as the Citra 3DS Emulator has made some substantial progress, enabling us to do things that were impossible so far.

You can check out the details on GBATemp (link is pinned to the right).

I currently estimate the progress of Decode’s Story translation by roughly 25%.

I’ll provide a more substantial update when I get to it.

See ya guys,

Operation Decoded

    Keep thinking that…
It makes it all the more fun to strike back with a huge update :P
But as I always said: We do it for us and for the fans.
Some people are still around and even if nobody were around we’d still end up doing it :D

Heres me hoping you didnt take my bad joke (about a game never being alive, just clarifying) the wrong way because I really do love you guys for what you do (づ◕ 3 ◕)づ

Ps: “It makes it all the more fun to strike back with a huge update :P” you sir got my hopes up (ง◕ᗜ◕)ง
“We do it for us and for the fans.” and this should be the way of thinking of companies ლ(ಠ෴ಠლ)

Also sorry for my many faces, I LOVE THEM (∩⩾ω⩽)⊃━☆゚.*

Don’t worry, plus it’s not like you were actually that wrong.
We just try thinking of ways to make it alive again :D

As we’ve shown with Redigitize, although it can take some time, we always deliver ;)

I hope you’re happy. Also darn, nobody responded to my ded post in a way I wanted. Sadface.

Romsstar, I want to ask this but I hope it doesn’t pass off as offensive or anything, but does this mean that the estimated time frame you gave before is now redundant, or is it still an active goal to meet it? I understand it was a tentative one. I’m just hoping for a definitive answer
Thanks for all that you, and your team do for fellow Digimon fans. Best of luck!

  17. Romsstar Says:

As things are right now the estimated time frames are still our goal and I see no particular reason why we shouldn’t be able to meet those.

You’ll be able to translate the remaining 75% in 2 months? While also working on Lost Evolution? That’d be incredible! Thanks, and go team!

  19. Romsstar Says:

I believe I always said that only the MAIN Story of Decode will be translated by that time. This doesn’t include Menus and Mails and other things.

    Like

  20. Nightmare12 Says:

Yes, I know that. Even with just the story, I think it’ll be a huge accomplishment
Without going into too much detail, would Decode require the same ASM hacks that you had to do; possibly more? E.g making the menu size bigger to accompany the increased text?

    Like

  21. Romsstar Says:

As a matter of fact since Decode is so much bigger and there are so many more menues, it requires far more ASM Hacks than Redigitize ever did.
Most require very complex hacking too. The Digitter is one of the difficult candidates.

    Hey, guys!
It has been a while since I’ve posted here!
Thanks again for everything you do! Someday, when I buy a new smartphone, I’ll finish Redigitize for sure :P
Nice to see you all still invested! Please know that we appreciate it!

By the way, is there a good 3DS emulator for Android? Is it capable of running Decode?

  24. Hallelujah Says:

I don`t think that they “support” emulators, searching on google is your best bet.

Also, what was the answer that Rai was expecting… I need to know! ლ(ಠ෴ಠლ)

  25. Sporky McForkinspoon Says:

Well, we kind of support emulators. We couldn’t make the patch without them, so we need at least one working one. We don’t do a whole lot of “here’s the best settings” kind of stuff since that varies a lot from computer to computer.

As far as I know, there are no Android 3DS emulators, and almost certainly won’t be for a long time. Citra is the only major one at the moment, and as far as I know, it’s Windows only, though it might also have Linux that I forgot about.

SO NEVER MIND THEN, let me go back to stalking and never try to answer based on memory again~! (๏ᨎ๏)

I`m now also back to being interested in decode since I may be able to play it now. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Since Emulators aren’t illegal in the strict sense we can support them, but we don’t support or condone piracy.

  28. sporkymcforkinspoon Says:

We only support ROMs that people legally create on their own from their legally owned copy of the game. If people acquire it in other ways, we don’t want to know about it.

Alright, so that was what I remembered reading on the re:digitize post.
By the way, what takes more time : the story, the mails or are both in your definition of “Main story”? Because if I remember correctly re:digitize had almost more text in the mails than the story.
(sorry if I didn`t read the comments properly and missed it)

Romsstar`s comment about the team finishing the MAIN story in two months made me curious about that. 乁(ಠ෴ಠ)ㄏ

Also, two different ways to write your name Sporky (I guess you`re on different platforms)? ಠ_ಠ

  30. Romsstar Says:

I don’t count all mails towards main story except the ones you receive from Vitium or Petrov. So by definition of main story the story takes longer.

The mails on their own are actually easier to translate, the story is more troublesome.

I think of the mails and story equaly time consuming, just in different terms.

Something like that, Hallelujah. When I log in, the spelling with no spaces is the default since WordPress won’t let you have an account name with spaces or capital letters, so usually I manually change it after posting, but sometimes I forget.

Nobody in the team had a 3DS with Hans? I think its better use it and stop wait for an emulator. You can just distribute the text files to load it with hans and the user need own the original game to load it with Hans, so its a legal option for you.
